About the Board Game

Euthia: Torment of Resurrection is a competitive strategic role-playing board game set in an open fantasy world and played on a modular board. Every player chooses from a pool of five characters and strives to become a hero and savior of Euthia – a realm terrorized by three dragons. Although the game is designed for 2-4 players, there is a solo variant. Gameplay typically lasts from 30 to 120 minutes per player.

Euthia: Torment of Resurrection is inspired by RPG video games we play and enjoy, titles like Heroes of Might and Magic, Baldur’s Gate, Diablo, and Planescape Torment.

Strategic competitive RPG

Modular board:
Players uncover the map during the course of their gameplay. The map is created through the use of tri-hex tiles and features a variable setup for every game and scenario.  No two games are ever the same.

Players choose from among five heroes. Every hero has a unique playstyle, set of abilities, and progression path.

There are a large number of items to be found within the game, to include armor, weapons, various types of jewelry, scrolls, potions, gems, essences, Gaar, and more.

Upgradable Equipment:
Armor and jewelry can be upgraded through the use of eight different types of gems.

Armor comes in five material types: Leather, Mail, Plate, Krak, and Dragon. Every armor set has five parts: Helmet, Cuirass, Gloves, Greaves, and Boots.

Because there are almost no restrictions on equipment a hero can use, there are a large combination of playstyles available to the player.

Variable Strategy:
While there certainly is a fair share of fighting to be found within the game, there are plenty of other reliable strategies players can utilize, strategies like mining, exploration, resolving quests, and interaction. During the game, players choose which strategy or strategies they wish to use and are not restricted in their choice.

Three Dragons:
Farruga, Mirrezil, Brasath

Three Scenarios:
The game contains three scenarios, one for every dragon. Each scenario adds new rules, events, and map tiles.

NPC & Quests:
Quests can be fullfilled in Places of Encounters and Places of Legends, earning rewards.

Unique “Monster AI”:
Monsters are controlled by the other player(s). This mechanism is an essential part of the game and can become a part of opposing players’ strategies.

Unique Reroll Mechanics through Gaar tokens: Players can reroll one of their dice and add 2 to their roll.

Shii’s Intervention:
There are special mechanics to compensate for bad player rolls or especially good monster rolls. In other words, there is a balancing method for the randomness that comes with dice rolling.

Single-player mode: A single-player mechanic allows for players to play the game without any opponents through the use of special Combat cards.

The base game contains over than 1,450 components and weighs 6.5 kg (over 14 lbs).

Short Stories:
The game is accompanied by several short stories to help create the world and lore of Euthia for the player.

Full Description

You will face the threat of three mighty dragons born from the darkness of magic Faer, and in doing so, will have to deal with monsters and dangerous creatures plaguing the land. Search for legendary artifacts. Experience nature’s raw elemental power as it influences your steps. Fulfill quests to help the struggling people of Euthia.

There are plenty of strategic options on your side. Choose from a wide range of armor, weapons, spells, and magical jewelry. An open playstyle allows for every hero to play the way they choose. A branching chain of skills allows for hero customization – for example, playing as the warrior Dral, you could be a master in various weapons, a furious fighter, a prospector, a traveler, or a bit of all of them.

Euthia: Torment of Resurrection is a competitive strategic board game where you take the role of one of five heroes. Your hero wanders through an open-world of fantasy landscape represented by the modular tile-based map. On each turn, players use action tokens which can be spent on either combat, trade, mining, or used for movement.

At the beginning of every game, you will choose one of three scenarios to play. Each scenario represents an attempt to kill or repel one of the mighty dragons. Successfully repelling or killing the dragon will provide the hero with reputation, as does most of the actions the player performs throughout the game. The hero with the highest reputation at the end of the game is the winner.

We are preparing the Kickstarter campaign for release on May 5th 2020. The game and rules are already finished as of November 2019. We are currently presenting and playtesting the game in public with preproduction copies and are turning to Kickstarter to fund the worldwide release. At present, the team is working diligently on the preparation for the launch of the campaign, developing stretch goals, and designing exclusive content. We plan to publish the game in English and Czech, as the Czech community reached a pre-order goal for the Czech release, but it is also possible that the game will be released in other languages after our Kickstarter campaign.
